Clos d’Ora is an emerging superstar of the Languedoc region made by the already legendary Gerard Bertrand. The vineyard site for this is based on the high altitude vineyards of La Livinière in the Minervois. The nine-hectare stone-walled vineyard already contained old-vine carignan and grenache, Bertrand added syrah and mourvèdre, all farmed biodynamically. A truly satisfying red with savoury black plum and boysenberry fruit on the sun-drenched palate flecked with anise, tobacco, figs, and garrigue.

90 pts Given the quality of the Crianza I really was delighted to find this Reserva, needs way more time to fully flower however, still very enjoyable for me now. The Crianza is ready now, but this shows sleeping intensity and great future potential and longevity, wait a few years however.
Typical earthy red fruit with good use of oak, dusty vanilla. Weighty, full with a long finish, it will be a star in the future.
