Award-Winning Le Clos Recognised for its Game-Changing Status in the Drinks and Travel Retail Industry
Le Clos, the Dubai based fine wine and luxury spirits retailer, this week received three awards recognising its game changing role in the travel retail industry over the past 12 months. Le Clos was presented with:
- Frontier Award for Best Partnership Initiative of the Year – Dubai Airports & Le Clos
- Drinks International Travel Retail Awards for Best Luxury Drinks Launch of the Year – Ledaig 42 Year Old
- Drinks International Travel Retail Awards for Best Partnership Initiative of the Year – Retailer & Supplier – Penfolds Grange Collection
Marek Sheridan Managing Director, Le Clos, commented: “We are truly honoured to be recognised for our work by both the Drink and Travel Retail industries. Receiving these awards is a testament to the strong partnerships that Le Clos has developed not only with Dubai Airports, where we will be opening our 6th outlet in 2016, but also with the world’s leading wine and spirit producers. Our desire to change transactions into exceptional consumer experiences and the dedication of our team to constantly go the extra mile in delivering world-class standards is what drives us to always want to be better.”
It is Le Clos’ partnerships with key producers and distributors from around the world that allows the retailer to have access to some of the most coveted fine wine and luxury spirits products. In November 2014, Le Clos brought the world’s most complete collection of Penfolds Grange to market with a collection containing 61 vintages, representing 60 years of Australian wine history. This year Le Clos worked with Burn Stewart Distillers to be the first retailer in the world to offer the rare Ledaig 42 Year Old to global consumers. The 1972 vintage malt is the rarest and oldest Ledaig ever released, with only 500 bottles produced. Most recently, Le Clos was selected as the only global retailer to house the one-of-a-kind Chapoutier Ermitage Mathusalem 2010 collection – the only collection available of its kind in the world. Le Clos also currently hosts one of the world’s largest retail range of rare Japanese whisky, at a time when bottles are facing a global scarcity.
Eugene Barry, Executive Vice President, Commercial Group, Dubai Airports, added: “We are truly delighted to receive this award as recognition for the vision of both Dubai Airports and MMI to conceive and deliver the award-winning Le Clos concept. Both parties saw the huge potential and worked together in all areas to help bring it to life. Le Clos is further testament to Dubai Airports’ continual commitment to working with all our partners to create world-class passenger experiences in the world’s #1 airport, Dubai International.”
In addition to these unique product offerings, award-winning Le Clos has an extensive portfolio of more than 1,000 fine wines and 400 luxury spirits from all four corners of the globe, starting from only USD $28. This, as well as a team of highly qualified staff, who combined speak more than 20 languages, in addition to its unique services such as complimentary bottle engraving, in-store tastings and a concierge delivery service, highlight Le Clos’ dedication to providing a world class shopping experience for its customers.
